Dog Breed History

From the past ccientists have a discussed about the history of Dogs. In todays time we can see dogs different breeds, shape and size. This is believed to be a effect of a vital point in evolution is happened thousand years ago in past - The Taming of the Grey Wolf. Great Scientists believe that every dog breed is a successor of the "Canis Lupus" - the "Grey Wolf".

In history humans and wolves were both hunters, they would have known of each others existance. Humans took the wolf cubs because the mature wolf are harmfuland cubs can be adapt according to human conditions. As the wolf cub grow, they would be less fearful of humans and therefore be semi-tamed. A semi-tamed wolf is more valueable for the human beings, they would have benefited like, wolfs hunting style and power to sense, one thing more they can even give them warning in danger.

As the course of taming wolves was done by humans in this time period. Human choose only those breeds which are friendly and they discard aggressive breeds of wolfs. Every human trait the wolf according to their own need like size, hunting, coat length and retrieving ability of different animals, and guarding ability would have been some traits involved with the selective breeding process.

In this time period human started dog trading also, with this dog breeding also began. Today all regonized dog breeds are placed in one of seven dog breed groups:

Hounds - Breeds formerly used for hunting either by aroma or by vision. The scent hounds include the Beagle and Bloodhound and the sight hounds such breeds as the Whippet and Greyhound.

Working Dogs - Over the history these dogs bred used to become guards and search and rescue dogs.

Terrier - Dogs originally bred and used for hunting vermin. 'Terrier' comes from the Latin word Terra, meaning earth. This hardy collection of dogs were selectively bred to be extremely brave and tough, and to pursue fox, badger, rat and many more, above and below ground.

There are lot more dog breeds like Gundogs, Pastoral, Utility, Toy dogs, etc.

Now Days if we talk about total number of Dogs then we can’t even count them. There are estimate number of dog breed which is round about 900 and if we talk about number dogs then it is 4 million and above. Now even Dog is a favorite pet animal of human being and they are really close to human, so that’s why they have each facility like proper dog accessories, dog food and dog products.
